BWTV attended the launch of Fair&White Make-up collection on Wed, May 23rd, 2012 in Brooklyn.  Hosted by reality television star Kelly Linton of Brooklyn. The beauty event was a treat. It was held inside Michelle NYC chic boutique, offered complimentary cocktails, mini makeovers, cupcakes, manicures, massage  ... BWTV & guests enjoyed the evening of free pampering during the midweek.

Fair & White has launched a full makeup collection for women of color. Inspired by women’s daily battle with dark spot discoloration and uneven toned skin, the collection will help fight those concerns while bringing forth a smooth even tone. The Paris based brand has been successful with there product line and is there to stay.  BWTV has found a collection that comes equipped with all the essentials from blush to nail lacquer, just for you.

Mike Ruiz, world-renowned photographer and Nigel Barker, former America’s Next Top Model Judge were honored by Inspired in New York on Tuesday night at the chic Toro lounge at the Smyth Hotel in historic Tribeca, New York. Ruiz and Barker were chosen to receive recognition by the honorable councilman, Ruben Wills due to their many years as innovators and trendsetters in the entertainment and art industry.

Camille Evans, founder of Inspired in New York, opened the event, announcing that Dionne Warwick, former Ambassador of Health for the Reagan administration and U.S. Ambassador of the 46664 Mandela Foundation has joined forces with Thuli Dumakude and legendary models Maria McDonald and Sandi Bass to launch a global campaign to bring awareness to women’s rights and the fight against HIV/AIDS globally with their campaign called Cover Girls for Change.

Cover Girls for Change is a platform spotting light on beauty, fashion and film industries with a global initiative for social transformations through charitable contributions and events.

Immediately after the introduction, actress Juli Piechovski from the ABC series “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23” introduced honoree Nigel Barker. Nigel spoke about his recognition of achievement and stated that his involvement with America’s Next Top Model gave him a, “platform where people would listen to him."

Next, photographer Mike Ruiz was given a touching introduction by his partner, Martin Berusch. Mike spoke passionately about HIV/AIDS awareness, including safe sex practices and getting tested, followed by his statement, “it is incredible to be honored for something that is my duty.”

Both honorees were presented with proclamations from the city of New York.

The beautiful and talented Rebecca Ferguson singer and songwriter from the UK. Ferguson known from being the runner up on the seventh series of the X Factor. Rebecca sang " A Change is going to come"during her initial audition    for the X Factor.  For the bootcamp audition, she sang "Like a Star" to which Simon Cowell said "That her voice is perfect for recording!" and Nicole Scherzinger said, "the first time I saw her, she knew Rebecca is our generation’s songbird." In the final, she performed a duet with Christina Aguilera, performing Aguilera's hit single "Beautiful".

After the X Factor she signed a joint record deal with Syco and Epic in the UK. Ferguson later signed in the United States to Columbia records. Rebecca went double platinum in the UK, which is six hundred thousand CD's. She sold more than One Direction. Most people might think that One Direction sold more but Rebecca Ferguson actually did.

 On describing Rebecca sound it's, "quite soulful, very much like modern Motown.  Her influences are Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse and Kings of Leon.

Rebecca has always had a dream of singing, and as a child was always performing to friends. But once she fell pregnant with her first child, that dream took a back seat. She thought who would want her being a single parent and questioned if she will succeed as a singer. This is Rebecca's second chance at her dream.  Her heart, soul and talent Rebecca is succeeding with her music. No worries Rebecca! One of the best R&B voices this year!

Mommy-hood hasn’t just added a new bundle of joy to Mogul Jessica Simpson’s life, it’s also added even more growth to her fashion empire. Not even two-weeks after giving birth to daughter, Maxwell Drew with fiancé Eric Johnson—Simpson has announced that she is releasing her own collection of clothing for pregnant women.

The collection has described by the designer herself as “breezy, everyday pieces aimed at the modern mom-to-be who wants to maintain her fashion edge throughout her pregnancy.” Marking the 24th line in the Jessica Simpson Collection, the maternity wear will consist of prints, flowly maxi dresses, light jackets, blazers, comfy sweaters, knits and denims. Pieces starting at just $36—will allow any prospective mom to not only be fashionable but budget-friendly as well. The eponymous line will be available at Destination Maternity, Motherhood Maternity and Macy’s this fall.  

Gotye is a Belgian-Australian musician and singer-songwriter. The plucky music is addictive reminds me of Peter Gabriel or Sting from the 80's.  Intriguing song; The video clip has been viewed more than 7 million times on Youtube.  Making Mirrors (CD) actually topped Adele on the Billboard this week.   Gotye Billboard Hot 100 this week song " Somebody That I Use to Know an cruelly, seductive verdict on a stricten relationship joined by Kimbra. This song shows two sides of a breakup. The guy overstayed in a relationship with a woman; he didn't really care about.  The guy was glad when it ended (meaning he dumped her). She was upset how he was treating her and went 'thermonuclear' on him. The girl changed her number, tired of his head games and blocked his future booty calls. In the song, the girl cut him off once the relationship was over. The guy still wanted to stay in contact with a girl he broke up with.

To ask Dominique Auxilly how she intends for her female consumers to feel while wearing her fashion line, the Jamaican native laughs, “[I want them] To feel like the baddest thing,” she admits. With a line full of bold, vibrant, and form fitting garments, Dominique hones this feeling with her signature apparel, mosaic and versatile clientele. 

“I love getting emails from my customers telling me how amazing they felt wearing my clothes,” she spoke with bright eyes and a Kool-Aid smile. The designer’s humble, down-to-earth- persona goes beyond the ordinary, taking time out of her busy days whenever she can to extend her courtesy by personally delivering to her customers—reaping the reward of the “omigosh” looks on their faces as they put on her peices. Auxilly herself is also a fan of mega designers  Mcqueen and Versace. “I love Mcqueen’s extreme detail and Versace’s sexiness.”

 Although the D. Auxilly line has been featured in countless magazines such as Complex, Juicy, and Kontrol, spotted on a plethora of mainstream blogs, and worn by a variety of singers, actresses and 'celebutons', her favorite customers are everyday women in their 20's throughout their 40's.

Dominque has also been featured in Essence Magazine as a rising Black designer—which created a whirlwind of buzz and landed her celebrity clientele including Kelly Rowland, Trina, Adrienne Bailon and Angela Simmons.  However, one of the biggest celebrities to  ever wear her designs were rapper Nicki Minaj, who she named the exact dress after.

“At first she didn’t like any of my stuff, she[Minaj] didn’t even want to try it on but her stylist pulled a bunch of my things and kept telling to try them, and when she eventually tried on the 'Nicki dress' which wasn’t even her size but she was happy.”

Dominique’s hard work and perseverance has paid off tremendously. Last year she launched her Bridal Collection, which landed her a small role on the E! Television reality show Ice loves Coco.

Dominique Auxilly's buzz has continued into this year, most recently being featured on BET’s 2012 Rip the Runway.  Adding new pieces to her collection frequently—for the upcoming summer season, Dominique has a 60’s inspired “Miss America” two- piece swimsuit along with a all-white vintage inspired one-piece(both seen above) that will add fabulousness to any shore side. Dominique’s natural born talent and innovative designs have left most fashionista’s gasping for more.

Donna Summer -- the Queen of Disco -- died at 63 years old yesterday morning, May 17th after a battle with cancer ...  .   A few sources are telling us Donna believed she contracted it by inhaling toxic particles after the 9/11 attack in New York City.

Summer was a 5-time Grammy winner and six American Music Awards, and charted three multi-platinum albums.

In 2009, she sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring President Barack Obama in Oslo, Norway.

In a statement released by the White House, Obama said: "Her voice was unforgettable, and the music industry has lost a legend far too soon.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Donna's family and her dedicated fans. Donna Summer music will always be in our hearts.
