Fall Hair Highlights trends this Fall

Hair highlights are the latest trend that has hit fashion arena.... light brown can be noticed considerably, light auburn and light golden blond highlights blend well with golden brown hair.  I have changed my hair by adding champagne mixed with brown.  It brings out my complexion and have noticed color makes a difference. Hair highlights will change the look of your hair especially if you want to give it a natural touch.

What's popular currently, brown and black-haired celebs are all about a range of colorful streaks from Fantasia's dramatic platinum to Tyra's cinnamon.

Raven Symone rocks the latest craze in haircolor: “Ombre” highlights.

Cassie looks stunning in her bleached blond streaks.

Tyra's shoulder length blunt cut with added caramel hued stripes

Kelly Rowland multicolored streaks adds sparkle and dimension to her beyond-chic new cut.

Christina Milian dark underneath and bleached blonde on top, This  two-toned haircolor gives her long locks an edgy but yet cool.

Deborah Cox’s skinny streaks of blond to her shoulder length bob

Wendy Williams changed from her signature bold blonde locks for bronzed-streaked chocolate-hued waves.  It gives her a sophisicated look.

Angela Simmons  copper-streaked highlights look so pretty woven through her fishtail braid which is a popular hairstyle this Fall.

Fantasia short cropped hairstyle with a platinum blond streak in the front.

Rock Hellz Bellz

Hellz, a contemporary-pop clothing brand, designed two models for Casio’s Baby-G brand. Both watches stem from a love of the 80’s and the New York City streets.  Bold colors and daring designs have been reminisce the style of fashion during the 80's

The polka dot watch  BG5600HZ-7, is fun and playful, adding a funky punk style. The BG5600HZ-9 model taxi cab watch pays a respect to the great streets of New York City. The birthplace of Hellz Bellz., yellow cabs have been the lifeline of the company since its early stages and have been there through thick and thin. Both models are shock resistant and water resistant up to 100 meters. The new watches also feature an EL backlight with afterglow, world time, five daily alarms and countdown timer.

Hellz will be selling a limited supply of both  Baby-G x HELLZ collaboration watches that will be available at select Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Macys in October. The cost is $89.

Hellz Bellz being from the 80's reminds me of LL Cool J song " Rock the Bells" my version, Hellz Bellz watches are hard as hell, Stronger than other watches I don't care who you tell, we excel, they all fail, we're gonna crack shells, Hellz Bellz watches must rock the bells.

A Bountiful Ball at Oscar De La Renta 2011 Collection

At Fashion Week Oscar De La Renta presented a stunningly expansive collection of 62 looks.  Oscar De La Renta is known for his ball gowns and expect women to wear these dresses for the Oscars.  The red carpet luminaries and ladies of society circuit will have plenty to choose from.  My favorite includes an ivory silk faille gown embroidered with green leaves, and a seemingly simple black gown with an elegant bow on the shoulder .  Let's get ready for the Ball,

Amber Lancaster wore an Alice + Olivia dress

Trey Songs casual chic, olive green jacket

Eva Pigford looks like a Las Vegas dancer but loving her Versace pumps.

The Worst Dressed

Lady Gaga wore many outrageous outfits that night but the meat, it was attention grabbing.  Lady Gaga knows how to keep viewers attention.  Lady Gaga wore Franc Fernandez's design

If I could turn by time, I wouldn't have worn this outfit twice.  Didn't Cher wear this outfit like 10yrs ago.  She looks great but update your wardrobe.

Ke$ha hair and makeup is stunning but her a garbage bag for a dress.  Its trash bag chic? Ke$ha wears it well,  she has  that rockstar glam look about her.

Nicki Minaj outifit in Marco Marco  purple spandex jumpsuit and Chanel black boots.

Go Green at Fashion Week with Ashton Michael

Ashton Hirota of Ashton Michael Black Label showcased a spring eco fashion during Fashion Week.  A goth-inspired line channeling a hint of Morrissey and Ministry, working with the Seattle-based Rethink Fabrics, Hirota incorporated recycled bamboo, cotton, PET, and coconut into a series of dramatic and provocative silhouettes, that prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that eco fashion is anything but boring.

Fierce Christian Siriano at Fashion Week

Christian Siriano Spring Collection was amazing! He kicked off New York Fashion Week with an afternoon show that debuted 40 outstanding looks from daytime to night.  The former Project Runway received a standing ovation from the packed house. The collection inspired by African, Indian and Chinese influence very feminine, pretty with an edgier contrast.  It included giraffe prints and solids in bright teals, reds and creamy brown leathers-ranged from outrageous one shoulder tulle dresses. Christian line includes a signature Asian fabric print based on digital photographs showing different vantage points of Chinese and Buddhist temples combined with various perspectives of Indian beading.  We can't forget the fabulous shoes Christian designed for Pay Less shoes.  It was a great impact for the runway.

Kmart Styles for Less

It’s true...this season you’ll see a very different idea of fashion at Kmart transformed by their approach to products, quality and design.

The Fall 2010 Apparel collection is based on the latest trends, pulling from current styles in the fashion world like the Military-inspired Sgt. Pepper Jacket with shoulder embellishments, a Rocker Chic Bomber Jacket and Distressed Skinny Denim.  Fall wardrobe basics like the skinny cargo pant complement bolder looks like the high-waisted peplum military jacket. Where Kmart really stands out is in the details. Fine stitching, fully lined jackets, and streamlined silhouettes. The customer serves as the muse, with her personal style and lifestyle guiding the design process.  The line is built the Kmart core product philosophy: develop aspirational apparel that embodies a quality first point of view, delivered at a truly affordable price.

MILITARY COAT $99.99 Attention brand

As Kathy Huynh, VP of Women's Apparel Design, says "We want fresh fashion that's on-trend but it also understandable and affordable. It's about buying those few new pieces and incorporating them into your wardrobe to give everything else a fresh lift".

The Korean market controlling the black hair industry

Aron Ranen's Black Hair Documentary

African-Americans spend billions of dollars every year on their hair, whether on wigs and extensions, moisturizers and relaxers, curling irons and hot combs, sheens and gels, scalp and follicle conditioners, shampoos and lotions, or cocoa butter and other oils. In fact, although blacks comprise only 10% of the U.S. population, it is estimated that they consume over three-quarters of the country’s hair care products.

Apparently, the untapped potential of this lucrative market was not lost on Koreans who, as far back as 1965, began petitioning both the United States and Korean governments for economic incentives to help them enter the lucrative hair care business. Over the years, the Koreans set up shop right in virtually every ‘hood from coast to coast, gradually gaining control not only of the retail market, but the manufacturing and wholesale distribution as well.

The Black-Owned Beauty Supply Association (BOBSA) finds itself at the mercy of the Asian entrepreneurs, who now outnumber blacks in the business by about 10 to 1. For once the Koreans developed a monopoly, they reportedly began refusing to ship merchandise to any African-American stores, bankrupting most in the process.
And when no church, political, or grassroots movement was organized to challenge the ethics of the Koreans’ exclusionary and predatory practices, the situation deteriorated to the point where today 90% of the hair care stores are owned by outsiders who don’t live in, invest in or give back to the black community. This development is a tragedy, given the high unemployment rate in the ghetto, which keeps the bulk of African-Americans in dire financial straits.
All of the above, plus plenty of additional equally informative and fascinating background material, is the subject of Black Hair, a disturbing documentary by Aron Ranen. To his credit, the peripatetic director did his homework, crisscrossing the country to interview both merchants and customers, and Koreans and blacks in such cities as Oakland, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles. Invariably, he found the same sorry state of affairs everywhere he went, disgruntled and displaced African-American merchants, with well-to-do Koreans currently catering to their former clientele.
