#NYFW: Falguni & Shane Peacock Spring Collection 2013

Even if you aren’t familiar with Falguni and Shane Peacock by name, you should be familiar with their celebrity client list that includes Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, and Katie Perry to name a few who have rocked out in their theatrical bodysuits and donned their dresses on red carpets. With that said, one should expect the unexpected from the duo. Their futuristic Spring 2013 Collection was inspired by “Space-age Rockstar meets Cyber-Couture.” That must be why their front row was lined with guests, Adam Lambert, Charlotte Ross, and Neon Hitch.

          

  The show was truly out of the world. It opened with avant-garde headpieces over long slicked back locks that had been tucked away into intricate braids. The models wore body con silhouettes that are essential for any self-proclaimed diva. Incorporating cutouts and bold original prints into the same look can be tricky, but laser cut fabric was strategically placed over mesh overlays to show a tasteful amount of skin. The collection also featured cap sleeve dresses with sequins, beading, and feather details that gave a nod to 1940s silhouettes and gorgeous gowns.
