Gabrielle Varner aka Elle Varner for short, who is known for her August 6, 2011 single debut titled, “Only Wanna Give It To You” featuring J Cole, has now taken the R&B scene by storm with her versatile style and lyrical banter. The singer who as a young girl would accompany her song writing parents to recording sessions has now taken the lead in her own career. Varner has written and co produced her first upcoming studio album, titled “Perfectly Imperfect” which is much anticipated and will be making its premier in August of this year.
NYU’s class, for the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music was predicting the future when they awarded Varner with “most likely to get signed”. Elle Varner graduated from NYU in 2008 and was signed the next year, three years later she has now cultivated two hit singles, “Only Wanna Give It You” (at the top) , and her newly released second single, “Refill”. Refill can also be recognized from her mixtape “Conversational Lush” on Datphiff.com where a snippet of the song was available.
One can only guess what’s in store for the smooth and lyrically inclined songstress, but what’s known is that she has already become a star commodity in the entertainment world. Varner was recently on June 7th’s BET 106 & Park show as a featured host with Terrance J , which is no surprise being that she was one of the first up and coming artists featured in BET’s Music Matters Campaign for 2010. To say the least she has even made her mark in Vibe Magazine’s, “30 Hottest Celebrities under 30” issue as “New Sexy”. With the way things are going for Varner, NYU may be on to something with their second award that they bestowed upon her which was, “most likely to win a Grammy”, especially if she continues to blossom and prosper in the manner at which she is moving.
